Schools for Impact builds a movement of youth-led community change by connecting classroom learning with real-world philanthropy. Students learn about local needs, raise funds, meet charities and make meaningful giving decisions together. In doing so, they develop empathy, civic leadership and confidence while strengthening the communities around them.

We asked students what issues mattered most to them. The answer was overwhelming: mental health.

That's why it's the theme of this year's Summit – with every finalist charity working to improve mental health outcomes in our community.

Live from the summit floor

At the annual Schools for Impact Summit in Term 4, over 700 students from public and independent high schools come together for a day of purpose. Charities pitch live, students deliberate, and pooled funding moves directly to real causes – chosen entirely by young people.

“Students have more power than we sometimes realise. We're not too inexperienced to contribute meaningfully. In fact, our fresh perspectives, our energy, and our willingness to challenge the status quo might be exactly what's needed.”

“We are unrecognizable from last year (2024). We've grown from helping 74 kids to over 200. The student-led funding by Schools for Impact has accelerated our growth to provide our care model to more kids”
